Pilliga is a suburb of Regional NSW, New South
Wales and is about 448 kms north-northwest of
NSW's capital city of Sydney.
Pilliga is a village 105 km west of Narrabri in the
North West Plains section of the New England
region of New South Wales, Australia. Pilliga is
within Narrabri Shire local government area.
The Pilliga Scrub consists mainly of open
woodlands and gave rise to a timber industry in
the latter half of the 1800’s continuing for well over
a century, remnants if which can still be seen
today.
Today, the major activity is from tourists exploring
the forest for its history and from spring through to
summer its abundance of native wildflowers. The
Pilliga Artesian Bore Baths are popular year round.
