Cootamundra is a town in the South West Slopes
region of New South Wales, Australia and within
the Riverina. Cootamundra is within the Gundagai
Council. At the 2011 census, Cootamundra had a
population of 5,579.
Cootamundra is located on the Olympic Highway
at the point where it crosses the Muttama Creek,
between Junee and Cowra.
Cootamundra is a prosperous rural service centre
whose fortunes have historically depended on its
location at a major junction on the Sydney-
Melbourne railway line.
