Bowenfels is a small town on the western outskirts
of Lithgow, New South Wales, Australia.
Today there are effectively two Bowenfels. Near
Lithgow, on the Great Western Highway, is
Bowenfels (with the homestead of the valley's
first settler, Andrew Brown). About a kilometre
south is South Bowenfels. Although both are now
essentially suburbs of Lithgow
Bowenfels is a suburb of Regional NSW, New South
Wales and is about 109 kms west-northwest of
NSW's capital city of Sydney. In the 2011 Australian
census the population of Bowenfels was 1,789
when there were 910 Females and 879 Males living
there. The median age for people living in
Bowenfels was 39.
