Tarraleah is a highland village with an industrial
past that's been transformed into a unique resort
on the edge of Tasmania's beautiful wilderness.
Tarraleah is a 2-hr drive (114 km) north-west of
Hobart.
Tarraleah started life as a hydro-electricity
township in the mountains between Hobart and
Queenstown. There was a time when Tarraleah
was home to over 500 workers and was the heart
of Tasmania's huge hydro-electricity projects.
