Pontville is a suburb of Tasmania, Tasmania and is
about 23 kms north-northwest of TAS's capital city
of Hobart. In the 2011 Australian census the
population of Pontville was 531 when there were
254 Females and 277 Males living there.
Pontville is a small rural community in the south-
east of Tasmania, Australia. Pontville was sited by
Governor Lachlan Macquarie, in 1821, and was an
early garrison town, where convicts built the
bridge over the Jordan River.
