Kuranda is a suburb of Northern, Queensland and
is about 1407 kms northwest of QLD's capital city of
Brisbane. In the 2011 Australian census the
population of Kuranda was 2,966 when there were
1,486 Females and 1,480 Males living there. The
median age for people living in Kuranda was 42.
Kuranda is a town and locality on the Atherton
Tableland in the Shire of Mareeba, Far North
Queensland, Australia. Kurandait is 25 kilometres
from Cairns, via the Kuranda Range road. It is
surrounded by tropical rainforest and adjacent to
the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed Barron
Gorge National Park.
