Kingaroy is an agricultural town and locality in the
South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. It
is approximately 210 kilometres (130 mi) or about
2½ hours drive north-west of the state capital
Brisbane. Kingaroy is situated on the junction of
the D'Aguilar and the Bunya
Highways. At the 2011 census, Kingaroy had a
population of 9,586.
Kingaroy is known as the "Peanut Capital of
Australia" because Australia's largest peanut
processing plant is located in the town and peanut
silos dominate the skyline.
