Kanimbla is a suburb of the city of Cairns in Far
North Queensland, Australia. Kanimbla is located
6 km (3.7 mi) west of the city centre. It was named
in for the MV Kanimbla, a passenger liner which
had serviced Cairns before being pressed into
military service during World War II and was
established in 1989 by the excision of land from
Manoora and Mooroobool.
