Hivesville is a small town in the South Burnett
region of Queensland, Australia. Hivesville is
located on the Proston-Wondai road, 277
kilometres (172 mi) north west of the state
capital, Brisbane. At the 2006 census, Hivesville
and the surrounding area had a population of 310.
Hivesville was named for the Hives family who, in
the 1890s, owned substantial property around the
site of the town. Facilities in the town include a
pub, a convenience store and a petrol station.
