Halifax is a town in the Shire of Hinchinbrook,
Queensland, Australia, on the Herbert River, 15
kilometres northeast of Ingham. Halifax is located
19 kilometres northeast of Ingham, 131 kilometres
northwest of Townsville, 26.7 kilometres north of
Forrest Beach. Situated in the Herbert River valley,
Halifax is north-east of the Victoria Estate sugar
crushing mill and the Macknade mill, both owned
by CSR.
