A rural locality under the Shire of Kingaroy local
government area in the South Burnett region of
Queensland, Coolabunia is located 10 kilometres
southeast of Kingaroy, 14.3 kilometres northwest of
Nanango, 74.4 kilometres southwest of Goomeri
and 203 kilometres northwest of the state capital
of Brisbane.
Today, Coolabunia is a primarily residential suburb
with a number of small businesses. Its main
township of Coolabunia sits on a bend of the
D'Aguialar Highway, which passes through the
town and connects it to the nearby towns of
Kingaroy and Hodgleigh.
