Newnes is a suburb of Regional NSW, New South
Wales and is about 118 kms northwest of NSW's
capital city of Sydney.
Newnes, an abandoned oil shale mining site of the
Wolgan Valley, is located in the Central Tablelands
region of New South Wales, Australia. Today
Newnes is nothing more than a general store and
the Little Capertee Camping Area. In its heyday
Newnes was a thriving oil shale town. Newnes is
located 48 km north of Lithgow at the northern
end of the beautiful Wolgan Valley.
