Cudgen is a suburb within the local government
area of the Tweed Shire in the Northern Rivers
region of South Wales. The shire in which Cudgen
is located was named after the Tweed River, which
is a mature wave dominated, barrier estuary that
rises on the Great Dividing range. The river passes
through Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads and is
about 78 kilometres long.
In the 2011 census, Cudgen recorded a population
of 850 people, 50% female and 50% male.

years, 2 years above the national median of 37.
