Hobart is the capital and most populous city of the
Australian island state of Tasmania. It is Australia's
least populated state capital.
In the 2011 Australian census the population of
Hobart was 2,103 when there were 1,028 Females
and 1,075 Males living there. The median age for
people living in Hobart was 30.
The city of Hobart is located in the state's south-
east on the estuary of the Derwent River, making it
the most southern of Australia's capital cities. Its
harbour forms the second-deepest natural port in
the world.
