Cooee Bay is a seaside community on the tropical
Central Queensland coast. Cooee Bay is within the
local government area of Shire of Livingstone
(between 2008 and 2013, it was within the
Rockhampton Region).

Cooee Bay is nestled against the Pacific Ocean
overlooking Keppel Bay, and is centrally located
on the Capricorn Coast, two kilometres south of
Yeppoon, and 17 kilometres (11 mi) north of Emu
Park.

Often regarded as a suburb of Yeppoon, Cooee
Bay is in fact a separate locality. Like its
neighbouring suburb Taranganba, Cooee Bay is
separated from Yeppoon by Ross Creek, a popular
fishing location.
