Cherbourg locally is a town in the South
Burnett region of Queensland, Australia.
Cherbourg is located off the Bunya Highway
approximately 250 kilometres (155 mi) north-
west of Brisbane and 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from
the town of Murgon. Cherbourg is situated very
close to the dam wall of Bjelke-Petersen Dam.
Attractions in Cherbourg include the 'Bert
Button Lookout' and 'Emu Farm Tours'. At the
2006 census, Cherbourg had a population of
1,128. Cherbourg is a suburb of Central Coast,
Queensland and is about 169 kms northwest of
QLD's capital city of Brisbane.
In the 2011 Australian census the population of
Cherbourg was 1,226 when there were 631
Females and 595 Males living there. The
median age for people living in Cherbourg
was 19.

Cherbourg is located off the Bunya Highway

a permanent population of around 2,000
residents. The town is in an attractive country
setting surrounded by hills, farm land and
forestry.Cherbourg is run by the Cherbourg
Aboriginal Shire Council which is composed of
elected residents from the community.
