Borroloola is a suburb of Northern Territory,
Northern Territory and is about 713 kms southeast
of NT's capital city of Darwin. In the 2011 Australian
census the population of Borroloola was 926 when
there were 454 Females and 472 Males living
there.
Borroloola is a small isolated township near the
Gulf of Carpentaria area (it is 50 km upstream
from the sea) which is located on the McArthur
River. Borroloola is an open town where most of
the small white population live in the subdivision
behind the school, on higher ground and in
superior housing. On the edges of the township
are the “camps” of the Aboriginal groups. All the
businesses except one are managed by the white
population.
